Salamun is a tremendous poet, this is clear. As one of the most lyrically gifted poets writing in the world today, he deserves the close attention and praise McSweeney gives him in her review. Particularly insteresting was her revelation about animals in "Blackboards"--it carries over into other poems of his as well. Ms. McSweeney's reviewing has become more and more precise and useful on "The Constant Critic," and I'm happy to keep reading it in the future--I hope her new press does not distract.
