  You&#039;ve lost me. Is Mark&#039;s prose poetry advancing inside/outside the letters? Is the place the narrator (whoever that is) moved into in a former war zone?&lt;br&gt;
   What about the bilingualism. It could be in a German-speaking Amish community in the Midwest. What significance does the foreign tongue play, any in the letters?&lt;br&gt;
    It threw me when I hit the line &quot;The Babies is clearly a war book, and the recursive cornices of 20th century European war  . . .&quot; because at that point in the review the point was not clear to me.&lt;br&gt;
    Most intriguing of all questions unanswered that I come out of this reading with is this Has this sort of collection in a book form ever been done before? Did Kafka break the ground here?&lt;br&gt;
